Leah Shoemaker has been a physical therapist since graduating with a Masters of Science Physical Therapy degree from Washington University in St Louis in 2001. Prior to attending physical therapy school, Leah graduated from Indiana University with a BS in Kinesiology/Psychology.
Always continuing to enhance her knowledge, Leah is currently enrolled in the University of Michigan to finish her last few classes to complete her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree as well as enrolled at the University of Arizona Medical Sciences to obtain a PhD degree in Rehabilitation Sciences.
Leah has experience as a physical therapist in outpatient, home health, acute, inpatient rehab as well as a pediatric burn unit. However, Leah has spent her entire career working in a skilled nursing/long term care setting since this is her area of true interest and love. Foothills Rehabilitation Center is a wonderful place for Leah to call her “work home”. She admires all the residents for their hard work and dedication to getting better as well as enjoying the many opportunities to fulfill her passion as a physical therapist.
